HOT DOG : HOW TO THEY MAKE CHOCOLATE?

"Hot Dog" was a fast-paced, educational Saturday morning children's television series that aired on NBC from September 12, 1970, to September 4, 1971.

This episode featuring Woody Allen, Jo Anne Worley and Jonathan Winters is specifically answering the question of how chocolate is made. It starts with kids and the comedians sampling raw cacao before showing processing in the Guittard Chocolate Co factory.

Guittard Chocolate Co. is known for producing couverture chocolate, using original formulas and traditional French methods. The company is headquartered in Burlingame, California and has been family-owned for more than four generations.

Created by Frank Buxton and co-produced by Peanuts animator Lee Mendelson, "Hot Dog" was affectionately known as a "program about stuff". The concept was inspired by Buxton's travels visiting various factories and was designed to answer kids' questions about the mechanics behind everyday objects. The show used a creative mix of upbeat cinematography, live-action factory tours, and a groovy soundtrack provided by the American rock band The Youngbloods.
