Description: Description: In the 1940s a pair of apparent businessmen tour mine sites and other business opportunities east and west, starting with desert southwest landscapes and a freight train derailment. This wide-ranging reel covers an epic winter road trip as the men visit rainy coal country in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, followed by locations in atmospheric and autumnal New York City, before some leisure time at Niagara Falls. Their trip winds up in Detroit where they appear to cold-call residents to pitch them on buying new homes. Includes many visits with family or friends along the way and footage of coal miners at work, as well as a brief scene of a yet-unidentified Black man making a public speech at a rally for presidential candidate Harry S Truman.
