[Music] Thanksgiving day begins with mother getting up early to stuff the bird and then off to the Lions Packers football game and then back home to devour the bird with the children and mother and dad. Then later on we went with the children to the shipad and Johnson ice show. It was a beautiful sight. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] Christmas and all through the house. Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were chimney hopes that soon would be there. [Music] The children were never all stuck in their we little [Applause] while sugar dancing there we [Music] had just settled down for Oh, winter night [Music] along there arose such a clatter. I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter. I flew like a flash open. This year, the children decided they would make all the ornaments for the tree themselves. It was quite a lot of work, but we were rewarded with what we all agreed was the loveliest tree we had ever had. [Music] came and shouted and call them. Now, now come on and listen. To the top of the porch, to the top of the wall. Dash away, dash away, dash away, dash away. So up to the house, the courses they flew with a sleigh full of toys and then in a twink I heard on the roof all the clattering noise [Music] from his head to his foot. His clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot. >> I drew in my head and was turning around. >> He came with a B. [Music] >> After the initial excitement, the children settled down to examine their loot in earnest. [Music] I thought they twinkled so gay. How merry were they? The cheeks are like roses when kissed by the sun. Snow like a cheerio wled with fire. He's drooling mater. [Music] Everyone seems to have gotten what he wanted. >> He gave me a twist of his head. >> A chocolate smile and I knew all the while. [Music] >> He spoke not a word, but went straight to his word. He filled all the stockings, then turned aside. [Music] >> And the newest addition to our family, >> Miss B the piddling pup. [Music] came through his team, gave a whistle and they all >> my little girl is growing up. [Music] Christmas dinner with the children and mother and dad. Good night. >> Our outside lighting effect extended season's greetings to everyone. [Music] Not a creature is not even a mouse. [Music] [Music] We We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the penthouse at the Henry Apartments in Hollywood Beach. [Music] The weatherman was on our side during the entire time. [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] The cares of the world were forgotten while the rans and weed basked in the sun. [Music] Either [Music] pool or ocean bathing was most delightful. [Music] A day at beautiful Hyalia was profitable for all of us, believe it or not. The fishing was good either offshore or by boat. This fellow now hangs in our recreation room. Here's Bob Brand off on a business trip with friends. [Music] [Music] We visited story land and took these pictures to show to the children. The story book characters were all lifesize. [Music] [Music] [Music] Show offs. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Hallelujah. [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] We next enjoyed a boat trip through the Everglades. Here's an alligator in his natural habitat. We stopped to visit the chimp farm along the way. Why it is called a chimp farm, we'll never know. Oh, a chimp. We spent a pleasant afternoon with Agnes and Sam Divers in their new home. Hi y'all. Welcome to beautiful Cypress Gardens and wonderful water skiing. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Look, no skis. Whoops. [Music] [Music] Most spectacular was the skier with a kite. [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] One of the most fascinating of our stops was at Marineland. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] It is dinner time for the corpuses both above and under the water. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] The feets of these trained corpuses were almost unbelievable. These fellas have pretty high IQ's. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] This fellow jumped 16 ft. 56 had 265 days. We staged our own Easter parade in front of Bushnell Congregational Church. In the spring of this year, Ruth and Doug returned to the states from Salon, India for a vacation. We visited with them at the Cochran's home in the beautiful mountains of Pennsylvania. We arrived here late at night and had some difficulty finding this road. Here is Ruth and the children, Elizabeth and Mother Galba is justly proud of her grandchildren. We took a long ride through the winding roads in these mountains in an attempt to show the children some deer. When we arrived home, we found these wondering in the front yard. Another occasion of great moment this year was Sue's graduation from grade school. Grandmother Fector and I are on our way to the exercises at Cook School. This lovely gal was ours. You might say, "One last look [Music] all summer long. Mother Galva, the children, and I made artificial roses by the bushels. Father thought he'd never see the end of them, but they eventually were carted out of our home and ended up in these beautiful decorations for the Rose Ball, sponsored by the North Rosedale Park Women's Club and held in November. It was truly a lovely affair and was well worth the effort. [Music] Hello. [Music] Hello. La. [Music] Another [Music] Christmas rolls around. [Music] Heat. [Laughter] [Music] [Applause] Heat. [Applause] [Music] During the summer, the family journeyed to Asheville, North Carolina to deposit Sue for a two-week uh visit with her godparents, the Slutters. On our return trip, we stopped with Paty to visit Okana Lofty Reservation. This Indian reservation is located in the Smoky Mountains. It was a rainy day, but this fellow is making a canoe out of a log. This is their tribal council house. We pass this inviting mountain stream on the way. overlooking the Smokies from New Foundland Gap. happen. [Music] Each year construction becomes a little more difficult. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] They're taking this rather seriously, aren't they? [Music] [Music] Again, the traditional family dinner. This time, Grandmother Galba was with us, too.
