Description: Description: Crisp and atmospheric footage of downtown Chicago in the early 1930s, with throngs of pedestrians, motorcars and streetcars elbowing one another for room on the busy streets. Helpful intertitles identify all the locations. In the first half of the reel the camera is busy with welcoming new babies to a very affectionate and loving family, identified by name in the titles, that later relaxes on the shore of Lake Michigan. Latter parts of the reel were filmed on Kodacolor lenticular film, an extinct color process that contemporary technology reproduces as vertical striations in a black and white image.
