Description: Description: During World War II, Japanese American citizens are shown incarcerated at the Jerome (Arkansas) Relocation Center. Agricultural production and educational activity is shown in Arkansas, as well as people reading Japanese language newspapers and other scenes of daily camp life. Later scenes show the center's population during the army-organized process of transfer, by bus and by train, to the Tule Lake Segregation Center in northern California. Both sites were part of the system of concentration camps operated by the War Relocation Agency where Japanese American citizens were incarcerated. Among the most unique and historically significant films within the world of home movies, this reel shows the camp communities and their resilience in vivid color.
