Hirohito: The Crysanthemum Throne

Since 1926 Emperor Hirohito has sat on the throne of Japan, mainly a symbolic position of power. He has been witness to the change from an autocratic government to the current democracy. Although he was initially blamed for the disastrous war, time has revealed that he had no control over the military leaders. As the constitutional monarch he has helped his country rebuild itself to its present industrial power. From the Leaders of the 20th Century Series SERIES.
