Himalaya: life on the roof of the world

Description: Discusses the relative position, importance and size of the Himalayas, their geological history and the origin of the monsoon rains and how the rivers from the roof of the world have built the valleys and civilizations of Asia. Customs and ways of living have not changed much and all the canyons share in a common Indian culture. Also the pervading influence of Tibet are shown in three simple canyon civilizations: Buddhist Sikkim, Hindu Ganges Canyon and Islamic Kashmir.
