Hill Country and Armistice Day Parade (1943)

Produced by the Austin Chamber of Commerce, this 1943 silent film captures aerial views of the city. The blue river, lush grass, and growing sprawl of the city are captured from the perspective of an airplane, with distinct landmarks like the Congress Avenue Bridge, UT Tower, and Texas State Capitol Building visible. Later, Austin residents gather along Congress Avenue for a parade, perhaps commemorating Armistice Day.
