[Music] every year Falls kill or injure many workers on construction sites if you look you might see someone watching [Music] recognize me and this [Music] oh I'm rounding about a lot of sites these days never out of a job really just for now you and me are gonna play a little game a rather deadly game I'm afraid called hangman [Music] look you just saw came down 30 feet fast an art the Sun is made still up there wondering what the hell happened but we know don't we or we're going to so let's play our little game properly shall we view our Venice pot all the hazards that cause death or injury in four different accidents on this and other science and if you don't get them all you're for the big drop - so what went wrong for our first customer [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] well that means you get not all this fault but anyone could have caused a fall before the big one the ladder is okay well angled and tied off the hazards begin with the staging some of the boards are missing toe boards are missing too and there are no safety rails but there's only one line of scaffold planks when there should be two and because of the way the job is set up he has to overreach and with no safety line [Music] five or the blackest of black marks there get them all no and you get to draw in the head remind you something honey yours doesn't bounce it just crunches now here's another situation see what you scored this time [Music] [Music] [Music] so another construction worker didn't use his head instead he put it into the hangman's noose [Music] how many hazards did you spot first the ladder is set at too steep an angle and that support under it is makeshift and dangerous [Music] his shoes offer very little protection [Music] that load should be raised separately with a tagline so both hands are free to climb the latter is too short and it's not tied off [Music] six faults in all out missiny and you get to put in the body looks a bit like this Sunday oh and just about as fragile you want to think about that next time you climb but then you've been doing me out a job wouldn't you well let's see if we can't trip you up on this next occasion [Music] [Music] there were enough hazards there to make the hangman smile how many did you get poor housekeeping has left this worksite full of dangers nails have been left in boards upstairs no guardrails around the open stairwell more trip hazards on the floor and with the load he's carrying he can't see where he's going [Music] five hazards in all what a charming bit of bad housekeeping I must have friends in a business but there are no friends of yours miss a point and you add in the arms the ones he lost like this page rather live without a minute I recommend you use your eyes and your head if you want to keep me in one piece mustn't leave this line around must way because I've still got something else up my sleeve [Music] [Music] this worker made some serious mistakes how many hazards did you spot the first hazard is pretty obvious drinking and working don't mix especially up in the air and walking the beam is foolish when they're staging alongside overconfidence is dangerous whether from drinking or just conceit a safety platform isn't practical here but he isn't even using his safety belt [Music] he's beginning to panic he forgets to put his hammer away which at this height makes it a deadly weapon [Music] or hazards in all pretty about the legs you gotta stay fit on this job or you haven't got a leg to stand on I stay off the art stuff if I'll be here and I wouldn't take the chances with the old ticker or dizzy spells because it's a long way down well I reckon it just about wraps it up [Music] you may think this is the end of the hangman but he'll always be around as long as you take chances as long as you take chances some of you will be killed or injured some of you will fall from a roof [Music] some from a ladder some from alcohol or ill health [Music] broken bones and broken skulls no one's divine up in the air down on the ground supervisors and all you have to use your heads to save your bodies [Music] still be just around the corner - and if you don't play it again you be the loser [Music] [Laughter] [Music]
