There is music throughout the film. The film opens with still images of a man and a woman, then the camera sweeping along ferns. We see aged people walking through a park and then the film focuses on one couple, whose kids have now all moved out. There are images of them walking through a forest, while they speak in the voiceover of the uncertainty of aging and their commitment to each other despite the changing of their family roles. There is a scene of the couple getting their faces painted as clowns and then kaleidoscopic-lens images of a parade. The second half of the film shows sexually intimate scenes of the couple, mostly in their bedroom.
