Created by famed director James A. FitzPatrick, and photographed by Bert Dawley and choreographed by Madame Serova, "Georges Bizet" is one of the "Famous Music Master Series" of films. The film features Nathaniel Shilkret and the Victory Concert Orchestra. The film starts with the Toreador Song aria by Bizet, before delving into a re-enacted biography of the famed composer, who lived in Paris in the 1830s. It also includes segments of the opera Carmen and scenes in Spain including the toreadors.

Georges Bizet (1838 –75) was a French composer of the Romantic era. Best known for his operas in a career cut short by his early death, Bizet achieved few successes before his final work, Carmen, which has become one of the most popular and frequently performed works in the entire opera repertoire.
