Geography of Your Community

Illustrates how geographic concepts can be learned by studying the local community. Points out how children see the community around them when riding the school bus or when traveling about their town. Pictures the city and surrounding area from a helicopter, and transfers by animation what is seen to a map of the area. Asks and answers such questions as why there are an ice cream factory and a pottery plant in the community, and points out the interrelationships between factories, roads, railroads, and geographic factors.
