Gas: the magic flame

Description: Use of gas for domestic purposes and in heavy industry; heating, cooking and hot water systems; variety of uses in industry, gas flame used for fusing television tubes, glass blowing, mass producing moulded glassware and light globes. In heavy industry gas heat is used in smelters at steelworks, the manufacture of hot water systems, wall boards and lead shot. Standards of safety are maintained by the Australian Gas Association.
