Fun with words : from sentences to paragraphs

Shows how two children add interest and clarity to a poorly structured story. Gives guidelines for writing good paragraphs. Points out that a story without paragraphs looks dull and uninteresting; the first sentence should attract the reader's interest; each paragraph should be about only one idea; the order of sentences is important and sentences in a paragraph should be of varying length., An imaginary trip around the world provides the basis for an interesting story, but it isn't paragraphed correctly. Shows revision of paragraphs, arranging sentences in a logical order, and using introductory sentences. Demonstrates how naming words and doing words make sentences when used together and how modifiers add meaning to them.
