Description: "Friends in Need," a 1945 film produced by Alan Field and the National Film Board of Canada, appeals to Canadians for assistance in providing clothing and textiles to those devastated by World War II. It highlights the dire conditions in Europe, particularly in West Capel, Holland, where people are left bewildered, hungry, and cold. The film underscores the ongoing struggles against malnutrition and disease, despite the absence of active conflict. It showcases the efforts of North Americans donating clothing, with volunteers facilitating the collection and shipment of these items to Europe and China as winter approaches.
