Description: Provides a "planned immersion" course in French language and culture by showing how words refer to concepts that are culturally determined. Features an original romantic comedy filmed on location in France. Each program is composed of an episode of the story followed by a variety of vignettes that illustrate and explain the contents. These vignettes are drawn from throughout the French-speaking world and include photos, cartoons, graphics, film clips, interviews, and excerpts from television programs and advertising. Program 1 is an orientation to the series. Program 2 focuses on planning and anticipating.
