Forty million shoes: a report on Brazil

Description: Describes the gulf between the rich and poor of Brazil, and the difficulty of escaping the peasants’ trap of working for the land-owner. Also discusses the inevitability of change in Brazil by “democratic” or “totalitarian” means and the possibility of a solution being provided by either “free enterprise” and foreign capital, or by the Brazilian “communist” land leagues.
