, GAME RECAP: A swarming Gamecock defense held NC State to three first downs and 36 total yards to set school records and lead the Gamecocks to an overwhelming 48-0 win with Vice-President George Bush in attendance. Robert Robinson had two interceptions and Brad Edwards came up with an interception and returned it 43 yards for a touchdown to lead the defense. Sterling Sharpe led the offense with eight pass receptions for 118 yards in addition to a 22-yard punt return and a 58-yard kickoff return on the opening kickoff. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Gamecocks giving Carolina a 6-2 record for the season.

Collection Description
This collection includes 16mm film and video shot by the University of South Carolina's Athletic Department from the 1940s to the 1990s. Most of the films document UofSC's football and basketball programs; a handful document the University's track-and-field program. The majority of films and videos show games played by the Fighting Gamecocks, both football and basketball teams, and include full games and highlights, with defensive and offensive wide shots, for training, scouting and recruitment purposes, as well as special events in the athletic calendar.
