SPRT 5184; September 18th 1993; Louisiana Tech at South Carolina; Williams-Brice Stadium, Columbia, SC;GAME RECAP: QB STEVE TANEYHILL'S 52-yard touchdown pass to RB BRANDON BENNETT on the third play of the second half sparked the Gamecocks to an impressive 34-3 win over Louisiana Tech in the home opener for Carolina. TANEYHILL passed for 311 yards and BENNETT ran for 127 yards and caught five passes for 127 yards. The total offensive output of 631 yards fell five yards shy of the school record that was set in 1985. Defensively, the Gamecocks did not give up a touchdown for the first time since the 1990 season as Carolina improved their record to 2-1 for the young season. This collection includes 16mm film and video shot by the University of South Carolina's Athletic Department from the 1940s to the 1990s. Most of the films document UofSC's football and basketball programs; a handful document the University's track-and-field program. The majority of films and videos show games played by the Fighting Gamecocks, both football and basketball teams, and include full games and highlights, with defensive and offensive wide shots, for training, scouting and recruitment purposes, as well as special events in the athletic calendar.
