Content Description
This footage is the actual football highlights that would have been used in the Joe Morrison show. These highlights were presumably shown in the week 5 episode of the 1988 season. Clips depict the highlights from the game played on September 24, 1988 between the University of Georgia and the University of South Carolina at Williams-Brice Stadium. The Gamecocks beat the Bulldogs 23-10. Notable Players: Gamecock legend and current broadcaster, Todd Ellis, called the plays for his junior season in 1988. One of the most graceful and versatile athletes in school history, wide receiver Robert Brooks came along at a period of air-it-out offense and superior playmakers – yet still made his mark right away. Brooks’ grace can be seen as a freshman against the Bulldogs in 1988 when he made a beautiful one handed catch for a 36 yard touchdown (02:37). Three of the other 23 points scored that day against the Bulldogs came from the leg of Collin Mackie. Mackie is the most prolific specialist in school history, leading the record list for career points scored with 330 points scored.

Collection Description
This collection includes 16mm film and video shot by the University of South Carolina's Athletic Department from the 1940s to the 1990s. Most of the films document UofSC's football and basketball programs; a handful document the University's track-and-field program. The majority of films and videos show games played by the Fighting Gamecocks, both football and basketball teams, and include full games and highlights, with defensive and offensive wide shots, for training, scouting and recruitment purposes, as well as special events in the athletic calendar.
