Content Description
This is UNEDITED footage from South Carolina head coach Joe Morrison’s weekly coach’s show. This footage is from week 12 of the 1984 season and depicts the highlights from the game played on November 24, 1984 between Clemson University and the University of South Carolina at “Death Valley” in Clemson, SC. Carolina took their 9-1 record on the road to Clemson, and fell behind 21-3 to the Tigers. With about three minutes remaining in the game, Gamecock QB Mike Hold led an eight-play 86-yard touchdown drive and, thanks to a Clemson penalty that allowed a re-kick of a missed extra point, defeated the Tigers 22-21 to finish the first 10-win season in program history. The game winning rushing touchdown and following winning extra point kick are located at 16:23 in the footage.

Collection Description
This collection includes 16mm film and video shot by the University of South Carolina's Athletic Department from the 1940s to the 1990s. Most of the films document UofSC's football and basketball programs; a handful document the University's track-and-field program. The majority of films and videos show games played by the Fighting Gamecocks, both football and basketball teams, and include full games and highlights, with defensive and offensive wide shots, for training, scouting and recruitment purposes, as well as special events in the athletic calendar.
