Content Description
This tape is the unedited individual player introductions from the 1990 University of South Carolina Gamecocks football players. Each player speaks his name and position; background noise from the other players can be heard. The footage starts with head coach Sparky Woods talking about the benefits of expansion for college football and the Gamecocks. A notable player featured in this footage is Rob Deboer as a freshman student-athlete who is still honored as one of Carolina’s most beloved running backs.

This collection includes 16mm film and video shot by the University of South Carolina's Athletic Department from the 1940s to the 1990s. Most of the films document UofSC's football and basketball programs; a handful document the University's track-and-field program. The majority of films and videos show games played by the Fighting Gamecocks, both football and basketball teams, and include full games and highlights, with defensive and offensive wide shots, for training, scouting and recruitment purposes, as well as special events in the athletic calendar.
