Flow Instabilities

Illustrates the general features of flow instability, showing the generation of surface waves by wind in a water channel. Shows how the curve of neutral stability is developed by systematically varying speed and wave frequency. Uses shorter experiments to suggest the pervasiveness of instabilities in fluid flow phenomena and to demonstrate the existence of parameters with critical values.
