Description: A candid portrait of Cuba's leader as he makes a whirlwind five-day tour of Oriente province. Fidel is shown discussing local problems with villagers, getting information on their needs and sharing lighter moments. Newsreel inserts document the Bay of Pigs fiasco and American hostility. Other documentary flashbacks show Fidel and Che in the mountains during the guerrilla campaign. The filmmaker also interviews political prisoners and Miami-bound members of Cuba's vanishing bourgeoisie.
