Description: The opening scenes show vast clouds of insects, unchecked, ravaging fields and orchards. Then the picture shows how men are engaged in a never-ending battle against the insect menace. The child—methyl, ethyl, amyl—is then introduced, and the various properties they have in common are demonstrated in laboratory scenes. Dr Robert L. Seliger, psychiatrist at the Johns Hopkins University, is introduced. Speaking directly to the audience he claims that total abstinence from alcoholic beverages is the only way to combat successfully the poisonous effect of alcohol on the mind and body.
