Facing & Boring, & Turning a Shoulder on Vertical Turret Lathe

A rough aluminum casting, held on the table by means of clamps and U-bolts is centered and leveled with the use of a dummy indicator. It is rough-machined with tools mounted in the main turret head and side head. The horizontal and vertical movements of cutting tools, and the levers that control these movements are demon- strated.
