Complete Record: Program looks at America before Columbus and the first visitors to this continent. Still photographs and film footage trace the geological formation of America beginning 15,000 years before Columbus' first voyage of discovery to the New World in 1492; description of the birth of the great mountain ranges and river valleys; the deposits of natural resources and the migration of Asian nomads across the Bering Strait area which at one time was dry land. Following the Asians who became the ancestors of the Amercan Indian came the Vikings, followed by 15th century explorers from Europe seeking new trade routes to the Orient and China by going east. Their trade routes eastward were blocked by the Mongols.
