Description: Using the Lashley jumping technique, rats are trained to a pattern discrimination in a two-window situation. When they are transferred to a one-window situation using the negative sign, a small stream of air directed behind the animals forces them to jump to the negative card. One animal develops "abortive behavior" while the other develops stubborn resistance, climaxed by a violent form of neurotic outburst.
