Paula's glad that she had the courage to do what she thought was right sometimes it takes courage to admit when you've done something wrong okay you can do it Mike feels like running too but he others don't laugh she's glad she stuck with it the night of the performance her courage is tested [Music] again there are so many people in the audience what if she makes a mistake [Music] no she can't go on she can't she just can't and yet what about the others they're doing their parts and they're depending on her to come out at the right time well she did it before in front of the class when she was afraid guess she can do it again [Music] each time we do something that we're afraid to do and succeed at it our courage builds we become more sure of ourselves we become more confident that we can do things that are difficult and frightening and come out on top you don't always have to do something that's new or difficult or dangerous to be courageous sometimes it takes courage to Simply go on with something you've been doing sometimes that may mean being different from your group the boys want Dan to play tennis with them but Dan wants to finish his picture they won't leave him alone though they need one more to make it even can you see how this might test Dan's courage Steve says that only draw it's not easy being different from the group it would be a lot easier for Dan to give up the picture and play tennis with his friends it takes courage for Dan to continue drawing the next day the boys are riding their bikes and Ken thinks of a way to well to show what he thinks is courage but what a way to do it he could get hit by a car riding in the middle of the street if you were Mike or Dan or Steve would you take Ken's dare would you risk your life just to prove How brave you are this is no longer courage but fool hardiness Common Sense tells us that facing danger is not always the thing to do it's not always smart to do what someone else might call being brave on the other hand remember that there are many times in our everyday lives when we are faced with situations that may be difficult perhaps frightening situations where we must act courageously to do things that are important to us each each time we act in a courageous way we gain in our ability to overcome difficult situations whenever we meet them [Music]
