Description: Shows the importance of strong emotional ties between infant and adult by comparing four eight- to ten-month-old infants. Shows a home-raised girl with strong attachment to her mother, a child in an institution who is equally attached to his nurse, an institutional baby who is indiscriminate in his attachment to any adult and an institutional baby who has formed no attachment and appears withdrawn and un interested in his surroundings.
