Description: Provides an experimental check that electrons do acquire the predicted energy when they move in a vacuum tube for a known distance in a known electric force field. Electrons striking a metal plate cause its temperature to rise and this rise is shown to equal the rise in an identical plate using a mechanical source of energy. The predicted electrical energy and observed mechanical energy agree in value.
