This news footage for a KMOL-TV (now WOAI-TV) shows members of San Antonio’s Muslim community gathering in a city park to celebrate Eid al-Fitr and the end of Ramadan. The group is mostly men, dressed in a range of styles. They sing and dance—accompanying themselves on drums, tambourines, and stringed instruments—and break their fast with a picnic. KMOL-TV reporter Paul Schaefer can be seen enjoying the festivities, while the men beside him goof off for the camera. Near the end of the footage, two young girls show off their dancing skills.
