Description: Shows how twelve Tactical Air Command ski-equipped C-130s provided the sole means for transporting structural steel, electronics gear, heavy equipment and construction workers to two remote radar sites (Dye Two and Dye Three), extensions of the DEW (distant early warning) line, high on the Greenland Ice Cap in the Summer of 1959. The big ships proved to be uniquely fitted for the mission, in the course of which they moved 18,000 tons of cargo.
