This silent news footage was likely filmed for a story on the grand opening of the Driskill Dining Room, a restaurant at Austin's Robert Mueller Municipal Airport. The restaurant’s dining room featured windows overlooking the runways of the airport’s new, modern terminal, a sign of Austin’s state-of-the-art facilities during the Jet Age. President Lyndon B. Johnson spoke at the terminal’s dedication ceremony, which took place in May 1961.
