Description: Documents the dance styles, purpose, and several performances of Odadaa!, a Ga dance company from Ghana, West Africa. Observes Odadaa! in rehearsal, relaxing in their suburban Washington, D.C., home, and in concert performing traditional dances with an energy and exuberance borne of their intense commitment to preserve the cultural heritage of Ghana. Interviews with several members further reveal the diverse talents and strengths each brings to the company, particularly those of Yacub Addy, Artistic Director of the nine-member troupe. Funded by D. C. Community Humanities Council, National Endowment for the Arts, Folk Arts Program, and National Endowment for the Humanities, Youthgrants Program.
