Description: Frank Bigelow (Edmond O'Brien) is an accountant and notary public in Banning, California. He is poisoned by a "luminous toxin" for which there is no antidote. With a few days to live, he sets out to untangle the events behind his impending death. The film includes one of the earliest depictions of the Beat subculture.
