Description: Illustrates and explains the principles of Crookes tubes, vacuum tubes which permit the controlled observation of properties of electrons by removing the barrier of air molecules an electron stream must ordinarily traverse between electrodes. Using these tubes, demonstrates some properties of the electron stream, including its tendency to travel in a straight line, how it is deflected by a magnet, how its impact can move a wheel and its ability to create heat.
