Description: Produced for the program Challenge for change (Société nouvelle) in cooperation with departments and agencies of the Government of Canada; Narrator, Boyce Richardson; Photography, Tony Ianzelo, Bob Charlie, Barry Perles, picture editiing, Virginia Stikeman; Shows the conflict produced by the James Bay development scheme between a hunting culture of Cree Indians and the dominant white culture that has come to rely heavily on large-scale technology. Living during part of the year in permanent settlements like Mistassini, many of the Cree also maintain hunting territories in this northern wilderness to which they travel in the autumn and where they remain until spring. The entire family travels to the camp and works together in a tradition that is centuries old
