Creating With Cartons

This film follows an imaginative elementary school class as they transform empty milk cartons into an array of creative sculptures, ranging from giraffes and working water wheels to dinosaurs and the Trojan Horse. The students begin by researching ideas in the library, sketching their designs, and discovering innovative ways to fasten the waxy cartons together using tape, paper clips, and wire. With guidance from their teacher, they overcome structural challenges, paint their creations with tempera mixed with glue, and write original poems and stories to accompany their artwork. The project culminates in a lively classroom showcase where the children proudly present their handmade sculptures and perform their readings for one another.
