Countdown to Calamity

Description: This film appears to be a narrated documentation of the original downtown area of Huntington Beach and its beachfront, including buildings, traffic and pedestrians. Many of the structures dated to the ealiest days of the city which was founded in 1909, while others reflected subsequent oil booms that led to the growth of the city in the intervening years. Almost immediately after this film was made, a enthusiastic urban renewal effort began. Today, most of this historic core has been demolished.
