Copper sheet roofing

Description: Episode of Series “Plumbing”. Softening of copper sheet by annealing; principle and method of joining sheets together by welting; single and double welts. Application to actual roofing: use of seaming pliers; making the upstand at wall end; fixing of sheets to roofboards with tacks or cleats; standing seams. Treatment at roof edge: cover piece and flashing at upstand end; another type of upstand to fit a corner in which there is an arris; use of pleating tool; the batten roll, joint, upstand and roll end.
