Description: This documentary charts the effects of urbanization, agriculture, and such industries as logging and gold prospecting on the environment of the Peruvian Amazon and the efforts of conservation groups to protect the ecology of the area. An expedition of conservationists and scientists from Wildlife Conservation International meets with officials from Peru and Bolivia to suggest ways in which the vast resources of the region can be utilized and preserved. These include the formation of sanctuaries, the introduction of limited tourism and a leveraging system by which an organization purchases a portion of a nation's debt and makes a commitment to save the rainforest.
