Dramatizes the reading experiences of three high school students and suggests how their experiences point out aspects of comparative reading. Shows students finding conflicting evidence in two encyclopedias and different theories on the same subject in two science books. Points out that several authors writing on Samuel Clemens take different approaches and that the student must form his own concept of Clemens. Suggests techniques that might be useful in comparative reading.
