Complete Record: 1. Purina DOG Chow. color, 1976. Jerry Reed and his daughter Lottie are sitting under a tree with a bag of Purina DOG Chow and a DOG. Jerry Reed plays a guitar and sings “Old McDonald had a farm” with Lottie. Cut to a shot of the bag of Purina DOG Chow. He brings a DOG food dish in front of the DOG and pours some Purina DOG Chow into the dish. The DOG eats the DOG chow. He says that Purina knows about feeding animals. Lottie sings, “e-i-e-i-o”. 2. Purina DOG Chow. color, 1976. Jerry Reed and his daughter Lottie are sitting under a tree with a bag of Purina DOG Chow and a DOG. Jerry first says something to Lottie and then they both sing “Old McDonald had a farm” while he plays a guitar. He talks to Lottie. Close up of Lottie’s face. Cut to Jerry talking about Purina making feed from hens to horses. He says that Purina’s an expert for feeding animals. He brings a DOG food dish in front of the DOG and pours some Purina DOG Chow into the dish. The DOG eats the DOG chow. He says that Purina knows about feeding animals. Lottie kisses his cheek and sings, “e-i-e-i-o”. She hugs him and he laughs. 3. Purina DOG Chow. color, 1976. See a girl with a horse. Cut to Jim Ed Brown saying that he lived on a farm and that it was the first time he heard of Purina. Cut to a girl brushing a cow’s ears. Cut to another girl feeding a horse. Cut to Jim Ed Brown sitting on a stack of hay with a bag of Purina DOG Chow next to him and a DOG in front of him. He pours some DOG chow from the bag into a DOG dish and the DOG eats the food. Cut to Jim talking while a white horse walks by in the background. He says he trusts Purina. Cut to Jim sitting and holding a bag of Purina DOG Chow. He smiles. 4. 7-Up / The Uncola. color, 1980s(?) A professor stands in front of a small chalkboard that has the words, “The Uncola” on it. A stand is on the opposite side of the chalkboard. A small table of glass bottles of 7-Up are behind him. He holds a piece of chalk and talks. He turns around and puts his hand on the stand. Cut to a close up of the professor standing in front of the stand and next to the small table. Cut to the professor explaining an equation on the chalkboard that explains “The Uncola.” Cut to the professor explaining in front of the stand. Cut to a wide shot of the professor standing by the small table, stand, and chalkboard. Cut to a close up of the glass bottles of 7-Up. 5. Lipton Egg Noodles & Sauce. color, 1980s (?) 00:00:10. We can see the box of Lipton Egg Noodles & Sauce. Voice-over says it can be ready in 7 minutes. There appears a half plate of chicken and then bacon. Both of them are combined with another half plate of some noodles later. There are four pictures on screen to show the four different choices of flavor. 6. Hostess Ho Ho’s. color, 1980s (?) 00:00:20. Animated Commercial. A scarecrow whose shoulders stand two crows is talking about Hostess Ho Ho’s with them. One crow says, “Wow, it’s a cake!” Another says, “It’s a candy!” We see the box of the product. We see close-up of the pastry. It zooms in. On the screen, banner “YOU GOTTA BIG, DELIGHT IN EVERY BITE” is shown. A little girl and a little boy holding a microphone standing by the scarecrow are praising the pastry. “I like the chocolate cake!” says the girl. “And the candy!” says the boy. And two crows flying up are using their beaks to hold the box of Ho Ho’s. 7. Pop-Tarts. color, 1980 (?) In a kitchen, some food including milk and frosted Pop-Tarts is on the table. It seems to be breakfast time. A mother and her son are standing. Mother seems to be cooking. The toaster has an animated face. It can talk. Son wearing costumes like a pirate comes up to the table. The toaster speaks. It tells the boy do not worry. It has practiced a lot to toast a Pop-Tart. It shows the toasted tarts to the boy. He tried the tart and feels good. Subtitle “6 vitamins and 3 mineral” comes out. “Practice makes perfect!” The toaster speaks to audience, “There’s a lot of good inside. Kellogg’s Pop-Tarts.” 8. Pop-Tarts. color, 1980 (?) Through a corridor, s little girl runs towards camera. With two stuff in her hands, she comes to the table and talks with an animated toaster, “Hey toaster, guess what. We’ve got 17!” “That’s great!” “ Not really. Their score is 23.” “With Kellogg’s Pop-Tarts, you’ll feel better!” Then the toaster soon gets a tart toasted and pops up. Close-up of the tart comes out. Subtitle “6 vitamins and 3 mineral” comes out. When being folded, the tart crusts. The girl takes the tart and eats, “I bet you... You’re always popping up!” The toaster laughs and again gets a tart toasted and pops up. The toaster speaks to audience, “There’s a lot of good inside. Kellogg’s Pop-Tarts.” 9. Keebler Rich’n Chips. color, 1979. Animated commercial. Several chefs are talking under a big tree with a banner “Keebler”. One chef with a green hat says to the one who wears red hat, “We’re all ready to put cheese into a chocolate chip cookie. But look! He’s still making the cookie pie!” He opens the door in the tree and we can see another chef with glasses making powder into pie. “You see I’ll make cookies with Rich’n Chips.” “Wow, so rich!” Chef with red hat explains, “So when we add Rich’n Chocolate Chips, our chocolate cookies are tasted uncommonly rich!” Then close-up of the product is shown. It is stirred by a spoon. Then the cookies are shown. “Well...” “Sending the chips!” They all hold chips happily. Finally three boxes of different flavors and text “Rich cookies. Rich chips. Rich taste” are shown. 10. Henny Penny Pizza. color, 1980 (?) Silent commercial. Someone is making a pizza. We see a hand adding some ingredients on a pizza. A chef is taking the pizza out of oven. He use a knife to cut it into small pieces. Then we see the box of Henny Penny and the whole pizza. Finally text “Bell’s Henny Penny. Birostol-Johnson City Elizabethon” and their logo are shown. 11. Chef Boyardee Fresh Crust. color, 1980s (?) A chef in the kitchen breaks a loaf into two pieces and introduce this kind of “fresh crust”. A woman tastes a piece of it and smiles. Then close-up of making a pizza is shown. It also shows that when the pizza is being cut by knife, its fresh crust is quite good. And the chef in the kitchen breaks a loaf again. It ends up with voice-over “Because of the fresh crust, you’d better pick it.” 12. Milk’s the one. color, 1980. In a hall, there are a lot of people. We see a clown smiling and playing with little balls. The other ones also act like clowns, playing with balls. they are all happy. the clown found a many packs of milk with ice on the table. He throws the balls, takes one of the milk and drinks. A woman comes up to him and also takes a pack of milk. to her surprise, the crown takes off his hat and the balls fall into it one by one. the others also drink the milk. Close-up of a bottle of milk being poured is shown. Ended with “MILK’S THE ONE sponsored by southeast dairy farmers of american dairy association”. 13. Restaurant. color, 1980s (?) It looks like a musical. In front of the Hardee’s restaurant, a group of people are dancing excitedly with their arms stretching accompanied by a song “hello hardee’s hello...” It’s like an opening nite. They are singing happily. Then a line of people with a tray in hand bend down one by one. Then some people reach out their hands. Then some waitresses with a tray look at audience and come near to camera. Then chefs and waitresses dance together in line. Then all of them dance in front of Hardee’s again with subtitle “the taste that brings you back”. Firework displays. 14. Restaurant. color, 1980s (?) It looks like a musical. In front of the curtains, on the stage, a group looks like a family are dancing accompanied by a song. Some girls are acting as burgers by the family. Then curtain is drew open. We see Hardee’s behind them. It’s like an opening nite. They turn excited. Then they group into lines to dance with waitresses and chefs in the Hardee’s. They take out a coke from the back. Three chefs dance behind the grill with a lot of steaks on it. Then some waitresses with a tray look at audience and come near to camera. Then everyone gather. Everyone hold a tray with food in hand. Then the shot cuts to the stage scene again. A couple run towards camera. Then all of them dance in front of Hardee’s again with subtitle “the taste that brings you back”. Firework displays. 15. Kraft Miracle Whip Salad Dressing. color, 1980s. Through the window of a supermarket, we see a man and a woman busy with the shelves. Suddenly an old man knocks on the window. Man and woman hear that and come up to him. The old man holds a bottle and says, “Would you please let me in? I’m out of Kraft Miracle Whip. The salesman pointing to his watch, answers, “We’re closed. Come back tomorrow!” The old man seems unhappy and leaves. Then text “Kraft Miracle Whip Salad Dressing” comes out. We see the old man passing by a woman with a bottle of Miracle Whip at the door of the car, mimid disappointedly, “ They’re closed.” The woman also says unhappily to herself, “ They’re closed.” 16. TANG. color, 1978. “Let’s go!” Someone opens the door. A woman with black hair and her daughter enter the house. Another woman with blonde hair and her daughter are in the house, “You’re early. Come in! We’ll be ready in a minute!” Subtitle Florence Henderson comes out. Her daughter is still having breakfast. The woman with black hair takes off her coat and sits down, “Florence, you’ve really got good drink today!” “Don’t you worried about Maggie getting enough Vitamin C?” Florence holds the girl and asks. “My Maggie?” “Oh most time the children in this country don’t.” Florence is pouring the Tang drink into a glass. Close-up of the drink is shown. Florence says, “The Tang has a full days supply of Vitamin C.” The woman takes up the glass of drink and says, “OK. but what if she doesn’t want to drink it.” “She’ll love Tang. It has a natural orange flavor.” The girl takes a sip and says happily, “It’s really good, mom!” So Florence laughed, “What I have told you.” It ends up with “Delicious Tang for breakfast. Do something good for your family.” 17. Cap’n Crunch. color, 1980 (?) Animated commercial. 00:01:00. On an island named Crunch Berry, there are some residents and a DOG taking a nap, sunbathing in a comfortable mood. Suddenly we see a ship drawing near. A pirate stealthily comes into them. He hides him behind the bush. With two guns in hand, he robs the residents of crunchberries. His speaking has a strong accent. We see a banner hanging between the trees, “Keep out! Very valuable crunchberry bush.” He takes out and shows them the box of Crunch Berries. Then the residents soon understand why he robs them. They answer “Yes yes”. Then we see the close-up of the product being poured into a glass. the pirate says, “They taste like strawberry!” An old man is holding a bowl of Crunchberries for him, “Oh yep they’re crunchy!” The pirate turns very happy and cuts the banner to scratch the crunchberry tree. The old man says with fear “oh no, wait!” “Come with me! Sweetie bush!” he holds the tree and runs away excitedly. A boy is so worried about this, “he grabbed them!”. But the old man standing by him says calmly, “look! here is the real crunchberry bush!” He pulls a string to let a house move up. Then we see shining crunchberries hiding inside. The others are happy about this. “But what kind of bush did he grab?” someone asks the old man. then shot cuts to the beach. We see the pirate scratching his body since the bush he took has made his skin allergic. The old man recommend the product to audience. At the end, a box of Crunch and A box of Cap’n Crunch are shown with “From Quaker”. 18. Cheerios. color, 1980 (?) 00:00:15. On a rainy day, on a wet road, some kids in raincoats are riding their bikes happily. Then we see the box of Cheerios with explanation PROTEIN RICH CEREAL - MADE FROM OATS. The shot of kids’ cycling and the shot of the cereal have a overlap. Then so do the shot of cycling and shot of a boy eating Cheerios with joy. Then we see a girl also eats happily. Then it cuts to the wide shot of several kids enjoying the cereal. We see a white DOG with a box of Cheerios hanging on the neck. Then it fades into the overlap of shot of the product name on the box and shot of kids cycling in front of a house. 19. Carnation Milk. color, 1980 (?) There is a can of the milk. Voice-over says, “Carnation Evaporated Milk, it’s ... so you can turn cheese into sauce.” We see a bowl of sauce stirred by a spoon. “Gel them into caffein.” We see a bowl of coffee and then a drink with a strawberry topping. We see a spoon getting some sugar. “And sugar into coffee. You can even turn vinegar into ...” We see some bottles like ingredients. And the sauce are poured into different dishes. “So your food becomes smoothy, tastes richer. Take a chance for the better. ” Ends up with the can of Carnation. 20. Diet Pepsi. color, 1977. There is an old granny with a glass in hand and her big yellow DOG. Her DOG is smart enough to talk with her. A man like a military officer is holding the glass in a surprise. It shows that each glass has two characters on the surface. It gives two examples. There are 8 glasses with different characters on the table. A girl facing audience is holding a glass. She makes a wink, “GET TWICE AS LOONEY AT HARDEE’S.“ 21. Trident. color, 1980 (?) A white man like a journalist is interviewing a black girl who is on a swing chewing a gum, “Why don’t you try a sugar gum?” “ Billy told me taste stupid!” “Are you kidding?” He asks a boy playing , “Billy, why do you try to chew Trident?” “Gives me the power of flavor relaxed.” Then he asks a boy who is reading a book with glasses, “Why Trident?” “It’s sugarless!” There appears the text “4 out of 5 Dentists - surveyed recommend sugarless gum for their patients who chew gum.” “Correct! Besides, Charlie recommends.” the boy with glasses continues. The man goes on to interview a boy at playground, “Come on, Charlie. Why Trident?” “The gum is so cute.” The laughs and says, “Trident, for family you should choose it.” 22. Diet Pepsi. color, 1980 (?) There is a white boat. A woman is wiping it. A man is sitting at table by the boat, drinking Pepsi. then the woman takes a bottle of Pepsi and drinks. Two men are standing by the automatic beverage machine. one is taking a can of Diet Pepsi. Someone is getting a glass of Diet Pepsi from the machine. We see a man is handing this glass to a woman facing him. The woman is very happy. A man who is mending a car lying in the the gap between car and the ground is reaching a bottle of Diet Pepsi near camera. Another man with a cap is drinking a can of Diet Pepsi. And then in a place like a construction field, a black man is drinking a bottle of Pepsi. Subtitle “one calorie in 12 ounces” comes out. A woman with blonde hair is drinking a bottle of Pepsi. Someone holding a can of Diet Pepsi put it on the table in a kitchen. Then cuts to close-up of Diet Pepsi. Two old grannies are enjoying Pepsi on rocking chairs. A wife is handing her husband a bottle of Pepsi happily. The man by the automatic beverage machine is holding the can of Pepsi and enjoys it so much. Then we see a wide shot of a lot of bottles of Pepsi in the factory and text “Changing the taste of America.” 23. Royal Crown Cola. color, 1980 (?) On a mountainous highway, there is a lorry running. We see a lorry driver is holding a can of RC. He cheers up to another driver on his left side. We see the mountains along the way. He is driving joyfully. We see forest in the sunshine. Then the lorry stops at some place. A boy jump off the lorry and leave with another man. Again we see the lorry running on the highway by a lake. At the end, subtitle “Me and my RC” is shown. 24. Sunbeam King Bread. color, 1977. A song is being sang along as “oh sandwich sandwich... sand sand sand... sandwich”. A man is sitting in his car with a sandwich in hand. A boy with a cap is standing by him outside the car. He hands in the man a sheet of paper. He bends down a little bit to look at the sheet together with the man. But he can’t help taking a bite of the sandwich. They feel embarrassed. In the forest, two men are standing and watching another man swinging on a rope. One man with beard can’t help taking a bite of another man’s sandwich. Then the man who have got the sandwich in hand looks back and feels so surprised. Then the close-up of a pack of “Sunbeam King” bread and a glass of milk, a plate comes out. Voice-over says “No one can resist the flesh baked bread of sandwich. It comes from Sunbeam brand.” An old couple like visitors are looking at a map, standing in front of a souvenir shop. An Indian man behind them can’t help taking a bite of their sandwich. They are surprised about this and run away. 25. Sunbeam King Bread. color, 1977. A song is being sang along as “oh sandwich sandwich... sand sand sand... sandwich”. In a barbershop, the barber can’t help taking a bite of her customer’s bread in hand. They feel embarrassed. On a merry-go-round, boy can’t help taking a bite of the girl’s bread in front of him. Then the girl who have got the sandwich in hand looks back and feels so surprised. Then the close-up of a pack of “Sunbeam King” bread and a glass of milk, a plate comes out. A song is being sang along as “oh sandwich sandwich... sand sand sand... sandwich”. On the stage, the magician appears a pigeon from his black hat to show it to a black girl. And he can’t help taking a bite of her bread in hand. By a lake, a man is fishing while a girl is swimming. The man pays much attention to his pole. The girl can’t help taking a bite his bread in hand. Then the close-up of a pack of “Sunbeam King” bread and a glass of milk, a plate comes out. In an old-style house, a girl in ancient dress is reading a book on a rocking chair. Suddenly a man in suit appears and can’t help taking a bite of the girl’s bread. The girl is quite scared by this. She screams. Then the close-up of a pack of “Sunbeam King” bread and a glass of milk, a plate comes out. Voice-over says “No one can resist the flesh baked bread of sandwich. It comes from Sunbeam brand.” 27. Rainbo Bread. color, 1975. An animated commercial. A slice of bread is standing on the plate. It has a face and can speak. “Hi. I’m a slice of Rainbo enriched bread. I’m proud of it. You see Rainbo has been a heritage for a long time.” It walks into an album with a title “PHOTO” standing in order to introduce the history of Rainbo bread. “My grandfather was the founder during the Depression... throughout the war... Rock’n roll in the 50s and 60s.” Then lettuce and tomato fly to stick onto it and then another slice of bread. A sandwich has been made. “Rainbo ENRICHED BREAD Good things are goin’on.” 28. Rainbo Bread. color, 1975. An animated commercial. A slice of bread is standing on the plate. It has a face and can speak. “Hi. I’m a slice of Rainbo enriched bread. I’m good. Good in fresh and anything can be laid on... chicken, salad, even peanut sauce, and jelly! I can take it.” Some peanut sauce and then jelly are added on it. A sandwich has been made. “Rainbo ENRICHED BREAD Good things are goin’on.” 29. M&M Candies. color, 1978. In the gap between two sofas, a little boy comes out with a pack of M&M in hand. He faces audience. He shows the pack to someone. every kid says “Thanks Easter Bunny here. Next shot cuts to a girl with glasses at table playing with dolls and flower baskets. A pack of M&M is on the table. Then we see a black girl sitting on the grass with a lot of rabbits. She holds a pack of M&M. On he stairs, a boy and girl who are like from wealthy family are sitting with a basket which has a pack of M&M in it. An Asian girl is painting some Easter eggs at table. A girl in pink pyjama sitting on her pink bed is touching her DOG’s head . She has a basket of M&M on her bed. We see the close-up of the basket of M&M Easter basket kit. The girl in pink takes the pack of M&M from the basket opens it and eats the chocolate candies. She looks so happy. “The milk chocolate melts in your mouth - not in your hand.” Two kids are acting as chicken and Easter egg in yellow and pink with a basket of M&M on the floor. 30. 3 Minutes Brand Oats. color, 1980 (?) There is a bottle of milk, a bowl of oats and a can with label “cooks in 1 minute QUICK OATS” on the table. Subtitle “Oatmeals” is shown. Then we see the close-up of oats in can. Someone is getting some by a spoon. Then it is put into a bowl of something like flour. Then it is stirred. There are eggs, mushrooms and etc. on the table. Next shot cuts to a plate of loaf and sausages. Then appears a pot of soup with something like cereal in it. And then some pancakes and bacons. Finally there is wide shot of all of the food above. “A natural whole grain cereal. 3 minutes brand oats.” 31. 3 Minutes Brand Oats. color, 1980 (?) At table, a little girl is talking with a boy sitting by her. They seem to have breakfast there. A can of 3 MINUTES BRAND oats is in front of her. In a supermarket, two women are shopping together. A woman with long hair picks a can of 3 Minutes Brand oats from the shelf. In a kitchen, a mother is making breakfast with the oats for her son. A boy and a girl are having breakfast. A mother is helping her son put on clothes. “I love it.” In a kitchen, a woman brings a plate. Her little girl comes up to her and soon takes away the food. 32. 3 Minutes Brand Oats. color, 1980 (?) Someone is holding a book. There is title “Oatmeals - The New Old-Fashioned way to eat” on the surface. There is a bottle of milk, a bowl of oats and a can with label “cooks in 1 minute QUICK OATS” on the table. We see close-up of the oats and then several different shots of food full of table. 33. Rice Krispies. color, 1980 (?) In a dinning room, a boy is having breakfast at table. Now he is drinking a glass of water. His grandma stands by and takes up the box of Kellogg Rice Krispies from table. there are some little cartoon animated characters on the box. They jump off to the table and speak. They introduce the Rice Krispies to the grandma and the boy. So the grandma lets the boy have a try. The boy bites the cereal with a glass of milk in hand. He enjoy the product so much. His grandma is very happy to see that. So she thanks the little cartoon characters on the box. 34. Super Sugar Crisp. color, 1980(?) An animated commercial. It’s a sunny spring day. Several kids are playing in a garden. In the sky, a monster who is driving a helicopter throws a big snowman off to the ground, “let the winter freeze, freeze”. Then it turns winter immediately. It’s snowing. The kids can’t bear the freezing cold. A bear who has a blue sweater printed “Sugar Bear” comes. He is skating. He has a box of Super Sugar, “I’ll feed him with some super sugar. It tastes so sweet.” The monster is laughing and getting to the ground. So the bear feeds the monster with a spoon of Super Sugar. The monster soon becomes lovely, kind and calm. “Oh sweet... as spring time!” At once the spring comes again. The kids are so happy to see this. A rainbow with text SUPER SUGAR comes out. Then we see the real shot of a table with a plate of bread, a glass of juice, a bottle of milk and a box of Super Sugar Crisp. 35. Breyers Ice Cream. color, 1980 (?) We see a box of CHERRY VANILLA ice cream and some cherries besides on the grass. It’s written as “all natural ice cream”. Someone separates it into two parts. And then we see the inside ice cream. We see someone is cutting cherries. We see some cream being poured into a plate of cherries. We see someone taking some sugar. We see the ice cream product. Then the same person combines the 2 parts of the ice cream. We see the wide shot of the box and ground with text “Breyers All natural ice cream”. 36. Gift Certificate. color, 1975. At night, in a bedroom, a little boy turns on the lamp light and reaches a box on the desk. He takes it up and opens it. There is a McDonald’s gift certificate “from Timmy to Santa”. He takes it and goes out of the room secretly. He goes downstairs and comes into the sitting room where there is a Christmas tree. He seems so happy. He put it onto a plate by a glass of milk and soon returns back room. But not until he gets to the stairs does he hear the laughter of Santa Clause. He looks back. finally it ends up with McDonald’s logo and subtitle “Gift Certificate We do it all for you”. 37. Go Bananas Shake. color, 1977. On a ship. there are many people. A sailor who looks like having fun jumps towards camera. He has a banana in hand. He calls another man who wears suit to join them. He put the banana into the man’s pocket. We see a lot of people dancing together. Then we see the sailor leads them towards the McDonald’s. We see a banana being peeled. Then the banana shake comes out with subtitle “artificially flavored”. A waitress tells the sailors that it tastes like banana. All the people enjoy the banana shake a lot. “Go Bananas Shake At participating McDonald’s We do it all for you”. 38. Kentucky Fried Chicken. color, 1980 (?) In a room, there seems to be some Christmas decoration. We see the wide shot first. Then it cuts to close-up of the Christmas candle in the middle. There are some fried chicken. Someone lights the candle in the middle. We see the close-up of the candle. On the surface, there is a text “Twelve Days of Christmas - my true love sent to me” and a Christmas tree. There is also some twelve explanation on the back. Then we see the close-up of the Fried Chicken Bucket and the candle with subtitle “Just ask for it”. “Free with Bucket or Barrel or $2.00 each. Where you see the Candles Banner ‘til Dec. 24.” Finally the Kentucky grandpa in white suit sitting at table greets the audience “Merry Christmas and Happy new year to you all!” 39. Chef Boyardee Beef Ravioli. color, 1980s (?) In the dinning room, wife is handing a dish to her son. Suddenly husband takes it and says“Hey that’s delicious! But hope you can serve it within our budget.” Wife takes up the can of Chef Boyardee Beef Ravioli in sauce and introduces it. We see the close-up of the sauce in the dish. Then husband has a try. Then wife takes the dish to her son and gives her husband another one. They all feel pleased. Finally we see the close-up of the can with subtitle “Now about 24 cents a serving.” 40. Then it cuts to wide shot. We see there are two sets of sauce on the table for her to taste. The left one has the subtitle “Regular sauce flavored with meat” while the right has “ Sauce with Ground beef”. She tries the left one first. The interviewer asks. “What do you think, Mrs. Doris Maccarino?” “It’s too sweet.” Then she has a try at the right one. “How about this one?” “Fantastic! It really is! I’ll take this one.” Then the white paper which hid the label is taken off. We see the “Chef Boyardee Spaghetti Sauce”. “Would you recommend it?” “Oh sure I would. Oh, definitely! “ Voice-over says, “Chef Boyardee Spaghetti Sauce, you’ll think it could pass for homemade.” 41. Chef Boyardee Spaghetti & Meat Balls. color, 1980s (?) In a dining room, wife is preparing the food and her daughter and husband are having meal at table. She gives her daughter some sauce. Her husband says, “Susie, the spaghetti with meat balls is delicious!” Then we see the close-up of the can of Chef Boyardee spaghetti & meat balls. And then the spaghetti with two meat balls in a plate. Wife tells her husband the Chef Boyardee only 24 cents. He is surprised. Voice-over says,“Chef Boyardee spaghetti & meat balls. Now about 24 cents a serving.” 42. Wilton Cake Decoration Kits. color, 1980s (?) In a house, some kids are having a party. They are so excited. Shot cuts to a mother. She is making the decoration and introducing Cake Decoration Kit to audience. We see the close-up of the yellow box of Cake Decoration Kit. And it has a sheet of instruction in it. Then she uses it to have a demonstration. We see a cake being shaped as a beare by a shape pad. And then she adds some cream on it. She faces the camera and ays, “It’s so easy!” Then we see the boxes of Wilton Cake Decoration Center in the supermarket. The shot zooms out. A woman picks it up from the shelve. The mother in that house shows her daughter the cake she made. Her daughter says, “it’s so amazing!” We see the shot of cake and text Wilton Cake Decoration Kits. 43. Jif Creamy Peanut Butter. color, 1980 (?) There is a counter with a banner “CAN YOU PICK YOUR PEANUT BUTTER?” A man in suit is on the counter. On the table, there are three cups labeled A, B, C. A girl in yellow is being interviewed. Now the girl is trying cup A “leading brand”. then we see all the three cups. Then the girl makes up her mind. We see her her name “Mrs. Linda Bayless” on the screen. The man asks, “Can you pick out?” She says, “I like A the best.” So they takes off the wrapped paper and finds it a “Jif Creamy Peanut Butter”. We see the close-up of the bottle of peanut butter. The man says,“You look surprise.” The girl says “So I’ll pick Jiff.” Finally we see three cups - one is Jiff and another two is still wrapped. Certs. color, 1980 (?) In a store, a woman in suit enters and claims, “I want to return the Cert. they’re covered with bacillus! See!” “Really? Not bacillus. They are the flavor crystals in the New flavor Certs,” the salesman explains to her, “Try one!”There appears a graph to show the flavor of this Cert can last 30 minutes. She has a try and feels so good.Then it’s time to close the store. The woman leaves and the salesman goes with her.He says, “Now it’s time to get our better acquaintance.” Voice-over says, “Keeps on working even after 30 minutes”. 46. Velamints. color, 1977. In a mountainous place covered with snow, a woman with blonde hair with a horse by her is speaking to audience, “I love sugar. But not only with mint. I love my mint to be cool and refreshing. Now there areVelamints. They’re new!” Close-up of the packet of mint in her hand is shown. She takes out one mint from the packet. Subtitle “You really taste the mint!” is shown. She chews the mint and then rides on her horse. When she says “So fresh! They’ll take you a fresh way!” she turns around and leaves. We see different shots of her riding on the horse in the snow. At last there appears an image of Velamints and subtitle “you really taste the mint!” and also voice-over “3 refreshing flavors!” 47. Hardee’s. color, 1980 (?) animated commercial. There is a cartoon guy in grey. Suddenly a monster with huge mouth and teeth flies and comes down to him. It brings the guy and they fly to see the Hardee’s. A song is being sang along - “Hello Hardee’s! Hello Hardee’s! ...”We see close-up of steak being roasted on the grill. We see a slice of bread and then added some lettuce. and then the steak. and then cheese. and then onions, tomatoes and cucumbers. Finally added the other slice of bread. Then the wide shot of the house of Hardee’s appears. The monster and the guy get to the ground. In the house, there are 2 girls sitting to wait for their orders. The waiter is animated. “I’ll give you a juicy burger!” He gives the monste
