Complete Record: 1. Folgers Coffee. color, 1980s (?) In a kitchen, a woman is making a chocolate pie. Her husband and mother are talking at table. The woman complete her pie and says delightfully, “Chocolate mint pie!” Her husband has a cup of coffee in hand and takes a sip. Then he comes up to her and says, “Taste delicious!” She says happily, “Thank you!” Her husband adds, “Even smells great!”when he gets one more cup of coffee from a coffee pot. Thus she knows her husband is talking about Folgers Coffee. She says Folgers Coffee is his favorite. Her mother smiles, “I told you.” It ends up with voice-over “Get Mountain grown Folgers Coffee.” 2. Mr. Coffee. color, 1980s (?) In a supermarket, there are many people purchasing things. An old gentleman in a grey suit facing the audience is introducing Mr. Coffee to people. Subtitle “JOE DiMAGGIO’ comes out. He takes up the coffee pot which is filled with hot coffee from the desk behind him and holds it to show to everybody. The people surrounding him are attracted by this and comes up to him. “AVAILABLE AT ALL FINE STORE” 3. Heinz Tomato Ketchup. color, 1980s (?) In the wild, there’s a father and his son. they seem to have a hiking there. Now they’re having a meal sitting on the grass. The son is holding a hot fog burger on his hand while his father opens a bottle of Heinz Tomato Ketchup. Father pours the ketchup onto the hot DOG. Son smiles happily gazing at the food. They eat their burgers and talk. 4. Hellmann’s. color, 1980s (?) The clip is all along with the song of Hellmann’s. On a road with green trees alongside, a boy is cycling towards the camera. His front basket of the bike is full of something like bought it in supermarket. Next shot shows he is back home. His mother looks happy to see him. The boy hands in a bottle of Hellmann’s to his mother. She smiles. Then mother introduces Hellmann’s to audience. The close-ups of Hellmann’s and other food in the kitchen are shown. Mother brings the food to table where her two kids are waiting for her. Text “MOTHER KNOWS BEST” is shown. 5. Sunbather Montage. color, 1974. The sun looks extremely hot. At the beach, a big purple puppet character played by a man gets sunburnt while having a sunbathe. He faints onto the sands. A kid sees this and tells McDonald who is sitting together with many kids. McDonald and other kids comes to see that. McDonald takes a cup of mmm and get him drinking a some. Then miracle happens. He soon wakes up because of the power of that drink. He becomes vitalized and energetic. Then he continues the drink and has a good time with the kids. 6. Maxwell House. color, 1980. In a house, a couple are sitting on the sofa. The man has a cup of coffee which has a label “Maxwell House” outside. A girl is playing the cello on their right side. In the kitchen, one man in black suit with a big puppet who looks like him also has a cup of Maxwell coffee. The man takes a sip. They smile to each other. Then there appears a cup of coffee and a bottle with the subtitle “Coupon in June 29 Sunday Papers”. At the sofa, in a warm light, grandpa who is holding her asleep granddaughter in arms says, “Here’s the ending” and takes up a cup of coffee for cheers. 7. Mellow Roast. color, 1980. There are two ladies like friends in the house. The first one in white is making coffee. When another lady in green comes near, she admires the coffee pot. Lady in white recommend Mellow Roast coffee to her and pours coffee from the pot to a cup. The coffee seems to smell great. They both take a sip and enjoy very much. one bottle and one cup of Mellow Roast coffee. “No bitterness... just full-flavored coffee taste.” 8. Sanka. color, 1980. At a place like fair or festival, there are quite a lot people. Several young women are talking. Suddenly one of them sees a man with cup of coffee nearby and says in a surprise, “Oh, is that Robert John?” Another one says, “Let me find out.” She comes up to him and asks, “Are you really drinking Sanka 97% Caffein Free Coffee?” He answers,“Yeah, I am. I love it!” Then close-ups of the coffee with other food are shown. He says, “Why don’t you join me?” Hearing this, the woman feels quite happy and looks back to her friends. Her friends are also smiling. The woman takes a sip of the coffee and admires, “So good!” She waves to her friends to call them to join. Someone like an auctioneer on the stage calls out, “So lady in the middle!” Then she knows she should not put up her hands. Then all the boxes and bottles of coffee are shown with “ENJOY YOUR COFFEE. AND ENJOY YOURSELF.” 9. Sanka. color, 1980. At a ball or party, there are many people having a good time. An old gentleman and a couple are talking. The husband says, “The doctor said I can’t have too much Caffein.” The gentleman asks and points to a bottle of Sanka, “Why not drink Sanka 97% Caffein Free Coffee?” The husband answers, “I only like real coffee.” The gentleman pours a cup and give it to the husband. He takes a sip and says, “This is good.” Then subtitle “THREE WEEKS LATER” comes out. The husband who seems to be happier than before opens the door and sees the old gentleman. They greet and laughed happily. Then all the boxes and bottles of coffee are shown with “ENJOY YOUR COFFEE. AND ENJOY YOURSELF.” 10. Sanka. color, 1980. One man with beard is playing golf in a room, “Damn. Lose it again.” His friend standing by him is watching, “it’s only practice.” “Got too much caffein. Doctor said that’s bad for me.” His friend pointing at the Sanka coffee says, “Why don’t you drink Sanka 97% Caffein FreeCoffee?” “I like real coffee.” His friend makes him a cup of coffee, “Sanka is real coffee. Try it!” The man takes a sip, “this is good coffee!” Then subtitle “THREE WEEKS LATER” comes out. The two men are playing golf at court. Then all the boxes and bottles of coffee are shown with “ENJOY YOUR COFFEE. AND ENJOY YOURSELF.” 11. Sanka. color, 1980. In a big and luxury house, a woman and a man are talking. the woman asks and looks at her watch, “Oh am I too early? No, my watch is fast.” “Just have a cup of coffee.” “Oh I can’t have caffein. Doctor said that’s bad for me.” “Why don’t you drink Sanka 97% Caffein FreeCoffee?” “I like real coffee.” “This brand is real coffee.” The man makes a cup of Sanka coffee for her. The woman takes a sip and says, “em, it does taste good!” Then subtitle “THREE WEEKS LATER” comes out. The woman opens the door for the man to come in. He greets, “Am I too early?” “Nope, it’s time for coffee of Sanka brand.” Then all the boxes and bottles of coffee are shown with “ENJOY YOUR COFFEE. AND ENJOY YOURSELF.” 12. Hostess and kids Twinkies cup cakes. color, 1980s (?) In the wild, a group of kids are playing happily. They use a bag to put their feet in and jump together with a DOG. Then the shot of their swimming in a river is shown. Then comes up the tug-of -war game. Then comes up the dancing of two kids. Then two kids eating some snacks is lying on the meadow. A girl sitting on a chair is having a cake and tries to feed her dill in arms with the cake. Then comes up the shots of boys and girls having a good time during their travel. They all eat cakes. It ends up with kids’ jumping high and voice-over “Hostess and kids. They go together.” 13. Chef Boyardee Roller coasters. color, 1980s (?) A boy and a girl are in the kitchen. They are going to eat the sandwich with Roller coasters. A voice-over says, “When a cold sandwich just won’t do for lunch”. 14. Kellogg’s Marshmallow Crisp. color, 1982. A girl opens the cupboard and sees little cartoon characters delightfully playing with the crisp. The girl asks, “What do you guys talking about?” The little characters answers “Marshmallow”. And then a box of Marshmallow Crisp with other food as breakfast appear. Subtitle “Fortified with 8 essential vitamins and iron” comes out. The girl enjoys the crisp very much. Then little characters sing and dance. 15. Kellogg’s Froot Loops cop. color, 1982. An animated commercial. On a road, a bird with a big beak is looking at the coming car. The car stops and the DOG in the car talks with him. Then the bird uses his beak to hook the car and flies away. They land on an island and see Kellog’s froot loops cop. Then a box of Kellog’s froot loops cop with other food as breakfast appear. Subtitle “Fortified with 19 essential vitamins and minerals” comes out. The bird and the DOG enjoy the froot loops very much. 16. Stove Top. color, 1980. In a yard, a man is staying inside the DOG house while a boy and the DOG is outside. A woman comes up to them to invite them to dinner. Then all the family are having dinner. Text “Instead of Potatoes” comes out. 17. Gravy Train. color, 1980s (?) A DOG helps the family to build up its house. Then the product of gravy train appears with the company of a song. It says, “Gravy, gravy...” Then a woman facing the camera lens carries a bag of Gravy train and kneels to feed the DOG. The family love and care the DOG so much. Subtitle “Don’t just water it down. Gravy it up” is shown. 18. Gravy Train. color, 1979. Three DOGs yell, “Gravy train!” one by one. In a kitchen, a man and a woman feed them with Gravy Train. The DOGs are quite satisfied with the product and praised it “ So gravy”. Then it ends up with voice-over “richer, thicker gravy”. 19. Gainesburgers. color, 1982. A DOG wakes a man in the morning; a DOG welcomes the boy who is getting off the school bus; a DOG is licking a woman’s neck gently and the woman feeds him with Gainesburgers; a DOG is together with a girl who uses torch in order to read a book in a tent at night. 20. Butterball Turkey. color, 1978. A woman and a man in black who look like someone from nineteenth century are attracted by the smell of turkey from someone’s house. The woman says, “I smell a turkey but it has no wings, no legs”. A man in the house is going to have dinner and says, “I need turkey for my dinner. Terrific!” Then the whole family enjoy the dinner. Finally it ends up with “Make any dinner special”. 21. Butterball Turkey. color, 1979. A woman and a man in black who look like someone from nineteenth century suddenly appear and come into a house. They can see a mother opens a fridge and takes out a Butterball Turkey. Her daughter wants to eat it. Then the mother put it into the oven. Then there comes the close-up shot of the roasted turkey. The parents and the daughter are having dinner together, The father says, “Turkey on a weekday!” Then the daughter says, “Week all day!” All of them laugh and are having a good time. Finally it ends up with “Make any dinner special”. 22. Butterball Turkey. color, 1978. A woman and a man in black who look like someone from nineteenth century suddenly appear and come into a kitchen in a house. They can see a mother and her daughter preparing for their dinner there. The woman asks, “A turkey dinner for so small a gathering?” Voice-over explains, “Turkeys are juicy and smaller.” The whole family are having a good dinner. the woman and the man want the turkey too. Finally it ends up with “Make any dinner special”. 23. Kentucky Fried Chicken. color, 1979. It seems cameraman asks a boy with a schoolbag “How’s everything going?” The boy answers, “I’m ready to eat.” The parents and the boy are going to KFC. They praise the food as the most quality chicken. They order chickens and burgers and enjoy a lot. Subtitle “It’s nice to feel so good about a meal” is shown. And KFC grandpa in white suite is standing behind them, smiling and waving to the audience. 24. Kentucky Fried Chicken. color, 1982. There comes a coach. Inside the coach, a group of boys are singing some songs like country music and playing guitar. One of them says,“We sing all across the country. Next one says, “And we’ve tried chicken coast to coast.” Then next one says, “But there’s one special chicken we love the most.” Besides a father asked his daughter, “What’s that called?” Then all the people sing a song for KFC. Finally it ends up with subtitle “We Do Chicken Right”. 25. Kentucky Fried Chicken. color, 1982. The title is “World’s Favorite”. Waitress in the kitchen, one by one, from Japan, Jamaica, Mexico, Hawaii and England greets or says something good about KFC to the audience. Finally it ends up with subtitle “We Do Chicken Right” with changeable subtitle in other languages. 26. Weaver Chicken. color, 1978. An old man standing in a room which has several portraits hanging on the wall is introducing northern Fried chicken to the audience. Close-up shots of the chicken are shown. Then the family are having the chicken at table. The old man jokes, “Now my great-grandfather is staring, If he knew we are eating the Northern Fried Chicken. He’ll be downstairs.” Suddenly the portrait of his great-grandfather on the wall fell off as if he wanted to eat the chicken so much. Then the three are really surprised. Finally it ends up with subtitle “Come on up to Northern Fried Chicken”. 27. Chef Boyardee. color, 1980s (?) Father and son is coming home. He asks his wife, “What have you prepared for dinner?” Mother looks a little worried but soon turns happy because she takes out Chef Boyardee. We can see close-ups of spaghetti and cheese, sauce inside the box. The whole family are enjoying their dinner. Finally it ends up with voice-over and subtitle “Let Chef Boyardee plan your dinner tonight.” 28. Chef Boyardee. color, 1980s (?) Chef Boyardee facing the audience is introducing the spaghetti. The commercial starts with the close-up of the chef and then zooms out so that we could see Chef Boyardee spaghetti. He take out the sauce and cheese in the box. Finally He says, “Perfect!” And the icon of the chef turns into the logo on the box. 29. Chef Boyardee. color, 1980s (?) A woman facing the audience is introducing spaghetti sauce. She holds one glass of sauce each in a hand to compare them. She tells audience that Chef Boyardee sauce contains five times more meat than the other one. Then there is close-up shot of the sauce together with a plate of spaghetti. 30. Chef Boyardee. color, 1980s (?) Chef Boyardee facing the audience is introducing the spaghetti. The commercial starts with the close-up of the chef and then zooms out so that we could see Chef Boyardee spaghetti. He take out the sauce and cheese in the box. Voice-over says it can be ready in 7 minutes. There appears a half plate of chicken and then bacon. Both of them are combined with another half plate of some noodles later. There are four pictures on screen to show the four different choices of flavor. 38. Pizza Hut. color, 1973. A man with a cigarette comes into the Pizza Hut. There is full of people eating pizzas. He has a conversation with the waiter. And then he takes his family to Pizza Hut. It ends up with subtitle “A Great Place to Take the Family”. 39. Chef Boyardee Cheese Pizza Mix. color, 1980s (?) In a house, the delivery of pizza arrives late. The deliverer says it’s midnight now. When the man opens the box he says disappointedly, “It’s stuck.” His wife tried one piece and also says, “It’s cold again too.” In the kitchen, they take out a Chef Boyardee pizza of the oven. The man and the woman tries and finds it tasty. Finally the box of the cheese pizza and subtitle “Now with 3 cheeses” appear. 40. Chef Boyardee Cheese Pizza Mix. color, 1980s (?) A chef puts a pizza into the oven and turns on. A woman open the oven and takes a pizza out of the oven. The woman says, “you’ll get what you need. The Italian cheese pizza!” The woman and her son, her husband enjoy the pizza. The woman says “Easy to bake” and her husband say “And delicious”. Their son excitedly yells at it. Then each of them take one piece of pizza to have a try. Finally the subtitle “The Triple Cheese Pizza” is shown. 43. Morton’s Steakhouse Platters. color, 1980 (?) Voice-over says,” It is real steak.” We can see big ice and fire. There’s a box of steak frozen inside the ice. Then someone holds a iron stick with the words “STEAK HOUSE” on its top in the fire. he uses the stick to melt the ice melt. Then the steak comes out. We can see steak, potatoes and so on in the plate. A man cuts off a piece of the steak and eats it. He smiles. Finally the subtitle says, “THE STEAKHOUSE BRAND MANS REAL STEAK”. 44. Tang Orange Juice. color, 1980s (?) We can see a glass and a tin of juice labeled “LEADING ORANGE JUICE”. When the tin on the left moves to the right, we can see an empty glass appear. In a house, a mother is preparing meal for her 3 kids. the kids enjoy the Tang juice very much. Finally voice-over says “If the glass is empty, it must be Tang.” 45. Stovetop stuffing mix. color, 1980. A husband is fixing something on the roof, standing on a ladder. In the house, his wife is calling her husband to dinner. She asks, “Jack, will you have dinner with us?” The husband asks, “what do we have for dinner?” The wife answers, “Chicken!” The husband seems unsatisfied, “just chicken?” The wife continues,” Well, chicken, potatoes and stovetop stuffing!”The husband immediately gets off the ladder and says, “I’ll be staying!” Then the couple and another man are having dinner. The husband is eating stovetop happily and says, “em, eat Stovetop for tomorrow!” His wife says, “And?” He answers, “And fixing out the basement.” Finally the product comes out and there’s the voice-over “Instead of potatoes”. 46. Oven Fry. color, 1979. In a place like a garden, there are sunshine and plants. Three women are eating fired chicken. Subtitle of their names “Marda Cain, Janice Cuevas and Renee Phillips” appear one by one. They all praise the chicken. Then we see the procedure of making an Oven Fry chicken. Last voice-over and text come out“Tastes fried because it is fried”. 47. Oven Fry. color, 1979. An old woman is eating chicken in a place like a garden. Subtitle shows her name is Toppie Smellie. She says to her friends, “I can describe the fried chicken in two words. Em... em!” Last voice-over and text come out“Tastes fried because it is fried”. 48. Oven Fry. color, 1980s (?) There are some people at table having meals. They are eating fried chicken. A couple are enjoying the Oven Fry and then kissed. Then voice-over says “They think it’s southern fried. Your secret’s oven fry.” And end up with the box of new product and “New! Oven fry for pork.” 49. Oven Fry. color, 1979. A boy, an old woman and a man are eating chicken in a place like a garden. Subtitle shows their names are Tony Jones, Toppie Smellie and Bill Kovach. They’re talking about the fried chicken, She seems very happy and says “Em... em!” Last voice-over and text come out“Tastes fried because it is fried”. 50. Skillet Pizza. color, 1980s (?) Two girls in the dress like cheerleading squad are back home. One suggests Chef Boyardee pizza for meal and takes it out. “Fresh and skillet.” “All we need are in the box.” Now they are making Skillet pizza for their meals. Firstly they take out the powder and put into the pan. Then it is covered with sauce. Then it is put on the stove and subtitle indicates “15 minutes”. So they enjoy the pizza with coke. It ends up with the voice-over “Delicious homemade pizza in just 15 minutes.” 51. Kellogg’s Sugar Corn Pops. color, 1980s (?) Animated Commercial. A boy and a girl are having meals at table in a place like a garden. On the table, there are a yellow box of Sugar Corn Pops, breads, milk and something like soup. There appear a big yellow chicken and a man with a yellow hat and dressing talking to them. He makes a big yellow spoon appear. “Fortified with 10 essential vitamins and minerals.” Milk is poured into the bowl which has with Sugar Corn Pops in it. There are also milk, juice and bread on the table. 52. Stovetop. color, 1979. A woman with subtitle of her name Mrs. Terry Murphy is talking with a man about food. There’s a white arrow with text “Test Kitchen” pointing to the right side. The man recommends Stovetop to her and brings her to the kitchen. So the woman and her husband have a try on the Stovetop chicken. They both feel good about it. Finally it ends up with “INSTEAD OF POTATOES”. 53. Folger’s Flaked Coffee. color, 1980s (?) It seems there is a party in a big room. Several teenagers are dancing like the Cancan. there are 2 women talking and walking towards camera. Then a girl wants to make coffee for the people. A woman recommend Folger’s Coffee to her. We see close-up shots of coffee being poured into a cup. Then a man drinks and smiles, “Delicious!” 54. m&m Candies. color, 1980. There is a music party. A cheerful song about m&m chocolate is being singed along the clip. A band is playing excitedly. A girl is paying a the drum with words “m&m” on it. Then a boy eats m&m. Someone is playing the Cello. We see m&m is being shared with another boy. He smiles then goes on playing the drum. The close-ups of m&m pack and chocolates are shown. Every one in the band seems so excited because they all eat m&m. An old granny and a boy smile and dance. “The milk chocolate melts into your mouth- not in your hand”. All the people behind are clapping. 55. m&m Candies. color, 1980. There are a group of friends playing snooker. A cheerful song about m&m is being singed along the clip. They play happily and have some m&m packs with them. Finally all the people gather and shown 2 packs of m&m to the audience. 56. Milky Way. color, 1979. At the beginning the title “The Hipp Family - Wilton California” is shown on the screen. We see farmer tractors going in the field. A big family including the elderly and kids goes out for a gathering. They all pick a Milky Way pack from the ice box and eat the chocolate balls happily. Last text on screen is “At work, rest or play”, “It’s you and...” and the pack of milky way is shown, 57. Snickers Bar. color, 1979. It is presented by several interviews crosscutting. A worker, a boy, a lady and a man are the interviewees who talk about their feelings about Snickers Bar. We see all the ingredients in the Snickers Bar. Then the man and the woman smile.“Packed with peanuts, Sneakers really satisfies” appears while there’s a hand holding a handful of peanuts. then the boy’s smile is shown. 58. Crack-ups Bubble Gum Candy. color, 1980s (?) A girl facing the audience eats a bubble gum and chews to make a bubble. One bunch of her braid flies around quickly. Later both bunches flies. In a bedroom, a young man eats one and then excitedly runs around the rod of his bed. A boy chews the gum and made a big bubble. Then his image is cracked into two. The shot of the girl appears again. Three packs of bubble gums are shown and cracked. “IT’LL CRACK YOU UP.”
