A woman picks up her Sunday paper. 22. Raisin Bran. color, 1982. An animated commercial. A sun comes into a kitchen where a boy’s eating his Raisin Bran. The sun carries a boy outside to Kellogg’s Raisin Land. See a waterfall and raisins. The sun scoops some raisins and puts them in a Raisin Bran box. “Fortified with 10 essential vitamins and minerals.” 23. Rice Krispies. color, 1982. A pirate sleeps while a box full of treasure is open. A parrot is on top of the “door”. Three animated characters are on a ledge above the box, talking about cheering up the grumpy pirate. They land on the pirate’s right hand. The pirate wants the characters to state their business. Tony the tiger is dressed as a secret agent, holding a briefcase that says, “Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes Secret Formula.” He stands next to a brick pillar. He walks and a man picks ups a drainage top. Tony steps on top of the top as he walks by. Tony walks into Kellogg’s Secret Labs. A man with an umbrella comes out from behind a bush. After Tony gets into the elevator, the door is closing. Right before the door completely closes, the man sticks the umbrella’s handle into the elevator to keep it open. The elevator’s already going up so he goes up with it. Tony enters a top secret lab. An officer stands while a girl sits with a box of Frosted Flakes, two trays, two bowls of the cereal, a pitcher of milk, two glasses of milk, and two glasses of orange juice on the desk. Tony throws his hat, sits down next to the girl, and puts the briefcase on the desk. He pours milk into a bowl of cereal. The girl takes a bite of cereal. Tony takes a bite of cereal. A woman dusts the elevator and a painting next to the elevator. The woman takes off her wig, revealing the man who had the umbrella. The man grabs the handle of the briefcase. One of the women talks about an annual block party where they had a lot of pies. Two women talk about pies while holding plates of pies, saying the pie is not like last year’s because it’s flaky. A voice over says that instead of Crisco, a cheaper pure shortening was used - it wasn’t all vegetable like Crisco, so the crust wasn’t as flaky. Crisco makes pie crusts flakier.
