Description:
This late 1920s or (more likely) early 1930s silent film was one of a series created by Eastman Kodak as part of a classroom educational series. It shows everyday life in several areas of Chile in South America. Not only are the largest Chilean cities shown, and their main attractions, but also the different occupations and ways of life in the rural areas. A large part of the film shows footage of the main focuses of the Chilean economy, such as agriculture, and on the main trade exports of the time like the Nitrate and Copper industries. It is not clear who took the footage, but this particular print has an end credit indicating that it was once property of the Board of Education of the City of New York!
