Johnny, a Hopi Indian boy, from northeastern Arizona, comes to live in the neighborhood. The kids refuse to believe that Johnny is a real Native American, ‘because real Indians don’t know how to play basketball, swim, and do all the regular thins that Johnny does’. Johnny tries to prove to the kids that he is a real Indian, but to no avail. The kids finally do some reading and checking on their own. They discover how easy it is to misjudge a person, and learn an important lesson-when in doubt about anything, checking it out is the first thing to do.
