Most likely shot for an Austin area network news affiliate, this brief footage shows a car wrecked into a tree in a residential area. Local newspapers from the time report that on October 9, 1964, when high school student Michael Culp’s brakes gave out, he decided to crash his car into a tree in the front yard of 1605 South 1st Street rather than cause a collision with a lane of cars. No injuries were reported.
