California to Ames by Philip H. Elwood, 1927 part 2

Description: Landscape architecture Professor Philip H. Elwood, along with three Iowa State College students, made a trip of U.S. western national parks in the summer of 1927. This video contains clips from the California, New Mexico, Colorado and Ames portions of that trip. Includes footage of Sequoia National Park, Moro Rock, gardens of Edward L. Doheny in Beverly Hill, Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, Spanish Mission style of architecture in Balboa Park, and San Diego Exposition ground. Also includes the Grand Canyon of Colorado, a Zuni Indian village near Gallup, New Mexico, Mesa Verde National Park, Ouray, Colorado, Rocky Mountain National Park, and marching bands at the annual Shrine picnic on central campus.
